Jaxon smashes his sponsored scoot!
After seeing the incredible care his little sister received at Bristol Children’s Hospital 11-year-old Jaxon was determined to make a difference to other sick children like her.
In April he did just that and scooted his way into our fundraising family.
Starting from near his home in Brixham, Jaxon embarked on an epic sponsored scoot along the Devonshire coast that took him nearly six hours to complete. Despite some tough moments, this remarkable young lad preserved and after a mammoth journey reached the finish line in Torquay having raised an amazing £240, smashing his original target!
Jaxon knows only too well the impact his fantastic fundraising will have after seeing his four-year-old sister Charlee-Ann undergo two open heart surgeries at Bristol Children’s Hospital. His brave sister has a condition called Tetralogy of Fallot which means her heart has four defects and had her first major surgery at just four-months-old, meaning she had to spend her very first Christmas recovering on the Seahorse Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Despite having been through a lot, Charlee-Ann is now thankfully back with her family.
“The hospital is important to me and my family because my little sister was born with a poorly heart.”
We are so impressed with Jaxon’s efforts and want to send him the biggest congratulations! If you fancy setting up your own challenge like Jaxon why not start your fundraising journey today?
