Sponsor a Room

Sponsor a room in one of our three home-from-homes and change lives. Your generosity will help us provide free accommodation for families with critically ill children in Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in St Michael’s Hospital.

Bristol Children’s Hospital is the only specialist children’s hospital in the South West and South Wales, treating over 100,000 children a year. It covers the largest geographic area of any children’s hospital in the UK. St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is also the only unit in the South West providing the highest level of care to critically ill and premature babies from across the region.

This means families can sometimes travel from as far as Cornwall, Devon or Cardiff just for treatment for their child. The emotional and financial toll this takes on families can be huge – which is why we offer free family accommodation for as long as they need it.

No parent should be put in a position where they feel they have to choose between finances or being by their sick child’s bedside. That’s why we’re asking you – a South West business with community at its heart – to fund a room for a family in need.

What you get when you sponsor a room

To show our gratitude for helping us house families throughout difficult treatment – whether it’s for cancer, heart conditions, kidney problems, brain injuries, premature births and other life-changing illnesses – we’ll do everything we can to shout about your business.

Other than the knowledge that you’re doing an amazing thing for your community, some benefits of sponsoring a room include…

• A bespoke e-signature to use and social media assets to share, so your clients and customers know that you’re a charitable, generous business

• A certificate to proudly display in your office

• The opportunity for a private tour of our family accommodation and meet families to see, first-hand, the difference you’re making

• Meet your CSR and ESG targets

• Support your local community in their time of need

The accommodation in Paul’s House was brilliant, I stayed there for 22 weeks while Mila was in hospital.

Only being across the road from her was such a big reassurance for knowing I could be there in a matter of minutes should anything happen.

Raising your sponsorship

There are two ways you can sponsor a room: either by donating, or getting involved in an exciting fundraising event.

Whether you join one of our pre-arranged events like a group skydive with your team, Wallace & Gromit’s BIG Bake or our flagship dress-down day, Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day, there’s something for everyone.

Or, if you’ve got a unique charity fundraising idea up your sleeve, we’ll help you make it a reality with expert advice and a whole array of fundraising resources.

The families you’ll help

There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve made a real, tangible difference. Sponsoring a room in Paul’s House, Grand Appeal House or Cots for Tots House means families have somewhere comfortable, warm and inviting to stay, just minutes from their child’s bedside. With in-house laundry facilities, spacious shared kitchens and living areas filled with natural light and colour, our family accommodation often becomes a place of refuge for our residents.

FAQs

Yes! Small or large, Bristol-based or not, we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in sponsoring a room.

When you sponsor a room, we’ll invite you along for a viewing of one of the houses. While we can’t guarantee a room will be empty for you to view on your visit, you’ll get to see the difference our family accommodation makes and hopefully, meet a few residents.

If either Bristol Children’s Hospital or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in St Michael’s Hospital holds a special place in your heart, you can absolutely sponsor a room specifically supporting a family whose baby or child is receiving treatment in one of the hospitals.

Not only will you be doing good work in your local community, but by sponsoring a room and supporting a charity,  it can help support any internal CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) targets you may have as a business. What better way to show your clients and customers you’re a compassionate, trustworthy and community-focused business?
