In Memory Fundraising
Honour someone special by helping others
After the loss of a loved one, everyone finds their own personal way to cope. Sometimes it can be comforting to focus on something positive at the most difficult of times. Raising money in celebration of your loved one allows you to share wonderful memories of them with family and friends, whilst supporting Bristol Children’s Hospital.
How you choose to fundraise will be very personal to you and your loved one’s memory. To help you, here are some of the ideas that other people have found rewarding and fitting. Whether you choose one of the suggestions, or come up with your own activity that’s right for you, we will be here to support you, every step of the way.
A gift in memory
You may wish to remember your loved one by making a donation in their memory on a special day, such as their birthday or an anniversary. You may like to donate on a more regular basis through our charity lottery or become a regular giver by donating each month.
Run, walk, cycle or jump
We often hear that people find taking part in an active event has helped them create something positive from a loss. It can help bring people together and give them a focus. We have places in running and cycling events, as well as special skydiving days. If this isn’t for you, you can always organise a memory walk or an event based on an activity your loved one enjoyed.
Wallace & Gromit-themed events
From quiz nights and picnics to football tournaments and family fun days, there are many different ways to raise funds and remember your loved one. You can choose a date that has significance to them or an event you know they would have loved and honour them by bringing everyone together.
Raise money online
Sometimes simply getting people to donate online, on a JustGiving page for example, might feel like the right thing to do. It enables friends and family to share memories and messages and show their support.
