Artist Abigail invites patients to her monthly sessions.
Here at The Grand Appeal, we strive to make life the very best it can be for patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital. This involves not only ensuring they have access to world-class care but easing the stresses that come with daily life in hospital by funding a range of activities through an extensive Arts Programme as well as Music and Play Therapies.
Activities just like Abigail’s 'Drawing Club.’ These monthly sessions brighten up hospital life, as local artist, Abigail invites children of all ages to unleash their creativity. Arming them with pen and paper, 'Drawing Club' provide a well-needed escape from treatment and a chance to create.
“For a child, ‘Drawing Club’ is a chance to make their ideas come alive, express their imagination and gain confidence. For a parent, it’s a precious break and much needed time out.”
With works of arts such as these, it’s clear to see the patients of Bristol Children’s Hospital are a talented bunch! Having a creative outlet not only helps young people feel at ease with their clinical surroundings but aids their recovery and this is something we are enormously proud to fund.
