Gromit Unleashed

Gromit Unleashed began as a public arts trail in Bristol in 2013, as a collaboration between us and Aardman Animations, to raise funds to support sick children and babies at Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Gromit Unleashed. Summer 2025.

It’s going to be bigger and better than ever!

We set out to capture the imagination of the public by adorning Bristol’s streets with 80 giant Gromit sculptures for 10 weeks, before taking the sculptures to auction to help raise funds.

From small local companies to national corporations, a whole host of businesses generously came on board to sponsor our sculptures and some smashing artists and household names from the worlds of film, music, art, animation and fashion, such as Sir Quentin Blake, Cath Kidston, Nick Park and Disney Pixar, lent their talents to design the dogs.

After the trail ended our Gromit sculptures took up residence together for a grand exhibition, where over 25,000 visitors queued for up to six hours to see the hounds. The Gromits went under the hammer in October 2013 at our auction raising an astonishing £2.3 million for Bristol Children’s Hospital.
