Forget the Oscars! The most im-paw-tant award of the year is the Gromit Unleashed 3 Challenge Badge.

Gromit Unleashed 3 will take over Bristol for the summer, with 53 sculptures to find across the city and beyond.

In partnership with Girlguiding and The Scout Association, we’ve designed a challenge that’s perfect for everyone from the tiniest Rainbow to the bravest Scout.

It’s the most immersive and exciting way for kids and teenagers to experience the sculpture trail, with plenty of showstopping challenges for your group to choose from.

Choose your own adventure

Fill your summer with day trips, fundraising, sculpture hunting, crafting, fashion shows, inventing, movie making, exercise, and much more!

To earn your Gromit Unleashed 3 Challenge Badge, you’ll need to complete one activity from each of the following categories:

  • Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out – Navigate the stars of the Gromit Unleashed trail as part of this space-themed adventure.
  • Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers – Design and create items that are even wackier than Wallace’s inventions!
  • Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave – Celebrate the film that introduced us to our fluffy friend, Shaun the Sheep, by making some baa-rilliant woolly crafts.
  • Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl – Lights, camera, action! Discover what it’s like to make an animated film.
  • Cheeeeeese, Gromit! – Tuck into our tastiest challenge, where you’ll learn all about Wallace’s favourite snack: cheese.
  • Bristol Challenge – Explore the secrets, slogans and sculptures of the big city like never before!
  • Fundraising Challenge – Organise an event or activity to raise money for sick babies and children in Bristol Children’s Hospital. You could zoom around your local area on a sponsored scoot, organise a movie night, take on an epic reading challenge, or keep things “neat and tidy” at home. We can’t wait to hear your ideas!

FAQs

The Gromit Unleashed 3 trail starts on Monday 30 June and ends on Tuesday 30 September

You don’t need to have finished your challenge by 30 September, but you’ll need to start working towards your badge while our sculptures are still out and about.

You’ll be able to see the sculptures on the streets of Bristol and beyond until Sunday 31 August.

Don’t worry if you can’t make the trail! From Saturday 13 September to Sunday 28 September, the sculptures will gather under one roof for The Greatest Dog Show on Earth® exhibition at Cribbs Mall.

No. It’s free to sign up and register your group.

There is a fee for the Gromit Unleashed 3 Challenge Badges, which we’ve detailed later in the FAQs.

The Gromit Unleashed 3 Challenge is open to Rainbows, Cubs, Brownies, Beavers, Guides, Scouts and Rangers across the UK. You will need to organise a day trip to Bristol to make the most of this challenge!

We have both! You can download the Gromit Unleashed 3 app on Apple or Android from 30 June. The app can be purchased for £2.49, which helps us raise money for Bristol Children’s Hospital.

We will also have paper maps available at several locations across Bristol. See where you can collect the maps.

Check out our Gromit Unleashed 3 transport page to find out the best way to visit each sculpture.

There is no minimum fundraising target, but to ensure that you raise as much as possible, we suggest setting up a JustGiving page. Members of your group can then ask their friends and family to sponsor them.

If you have signed up as a Girlguiding or Scout group, it’s all about teamwork!

Set up a JustGiving page for your group, or ask Josie for some cash collection boxes. Then you can reach out to friends and family, asking them to sponsor your group to complete a challenge, or pay to take part in a quiz or a movie night.

If you have set up a JustGiving page, the money will come to us automatically; all you need to do is let us know you have finished receiving donations. If you have any cash donations to pay, this can be done via cheque, bank transfer or our website. Please contact Josie for these details.

Congratulations! We will send your group a bespoke thank you letter and certificate in celebration, and you can now purchase your group’s challenge badges.

Our fundraising pack, which is coming soon, will have details about how to place your badge order.

Gromit Unleashed 3 Challenge Badges are priced at £1.50 each, with 50% of this cost going to Bristol Children’s Hospital.

There are also postage and packaging costs. You can find these, along with the order form, in your fundraising pack, which is coming soon.

The funds raised from the Gromit Unleashed 3 Challenge for Girlguiding and Scouts will help to support children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Your generosity means we can provide free accommodation for families, medical equipment, music and play therapy, and so much more. Thank you.
