Cobie was born with diaphragmatic hernia, a life-threatening condition in which his abdominal contents protruded into his chest. He underwent emergency surgery in St Michael's Hospital at just 3 days old, and in the weeks that followed parents Tasha and Ryan stayed in Cots for Tots House while Cobie recovered.

Henry

In September 2011 Henry was born prematurely at 24 weeks, weighing just 1.7lbs. He was so tiny that his lungs weren’t fully formed, and he now suffers from several serious conditions including chronic lung disease. Staff at Bristol Children's Hospital have cared for him and his family throughout their journey.

Olivia

Andrea and Richard’s journey began during pregnancy, when scans revealed that their daughter Olivia’s organs were in the wrong place and that there were problems with her heart. While Olivia’s identical twin sister Elizabeth was perfectly healthy, as soon as the twins were born Olivia was immediately taken to the hospital’s specialist cardiac ward.
