Gromit Unleashed 3 Schools Programme

Gromit Unleashed Schools Programme

Have you heard the word on the street? Our award-winning Gromit Unleashed trail is returning to the streets of Bristol in the summer of 2025, and we want your school to be a part of it.

A brand-new edition of our award-winning Gromit Unleashed arts trail is back next summer, and we want your school to be a part of it. How? By designing and decorating your very own sculpture of Norbot, the ‘smart gnome’ from the upcoming film, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

*This image is a full-size sculpture and is not to scale for our schools programme.

Dust off the drawing board, ditch the uniform for paint-splashed pinnies and start designing your own amazing sculpture.

With a cracking opportunity to feature in the Gromit Unleashed exhibition, our social media and website, your artwork could be seen by over 100,000 people! The best bit? You get to keep your sculpture once the trail is over.

FAQ

Gromit Unleashed is a public art exhibition or sculpture art trail that started in Bristol in 2013. Brought to you by us – The Grand Appeal – in partnership with the award-winning studio Aardman Animations to raise money for Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Each trail features giant sculptures of Aardman’s beloved characters, uniquely designed by artists, big brands and household names. Placed in different locations around Bristol, our sculptures are a summer must-see!

At the end of each trail, the sculptures are auctioned to raise funds for The Grand Appeal.

The Gromit Unleashed Schools Programme gives students and teachers the chance to get involved in this much-loved city-wide event by designing and decorating your very own sculpture and access to themed classroom resources.

For just £500 your school will receive a sculpture of a new character from the upcoming film, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, to design, decorate and keep for life.

Yes please! Our Gromit Unleashed trails are more than a grand day out, they’re an incredible opportunity to raise funds for a cause that means so much to families from Bristol and beyond. Since 2013, the Gromit Unleashed trails have generated over £20 million for Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

We want to keep on making a difference, so we’re setting the minimum fundraising target for schools at £500. Plus, our dedicated fundraising team are on hand to help you reach your target.

Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are at the heart of our Gromit Unleashed trails. The money raised helps sick children, across the South West, who are going through the toughest of times. You can read more about our work, and how your money could help, here.

We’re finally ready to reveal this top-secret information… Making his Gromit Unleashed debut, our official schools programme sculpture is ‘Norbot’, the smart gnome who stars in Wallace & Gromit’s brand-new adventure, Vengeance Most Fowl.

You know what they say, there’s no business like gnome business!

Your school sculpture will be approximately 100 cm tall. This is smaller than the sculptures you will see around Bristol but means that your creation should fit into your school, playground or wherever you please nicely!

You’ll be able to collect your sculpture in spring 2025. We’ll confirm a collection location and date later this year.

Key information with hints and tips on how to decorate your sculpture will be included in your fundraising pack in the new school year. Good quality acrylic paints are the simplest way to go, but we’ve seen all kinds of finishes applied to school sculptures, from collage, to gems, mosaic and even feathers!

Yes, of course! All schools are welcome to take part in the Gromit Unleashed Schools programme. You will need to collect your sculpture from Bristol, and the money you raise will support Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital.
