Thank you for wanting to make life better for sick children and babies across Bristol and beyond.
Did you know you can make your donation go further with one simple step and at no extra cost? Gift Aid is a government scheme that enables charities to claim the tax back from HMRC on personal donations.
How does it work?
Gift Aid means you could boost your donation by 25p for every £1 you donate.
Once you have completed your declaration, it is valid for all gifts made in the future, and for any gifts you have made in the last four years.
Please note, we cannot claim Gift Aid on donations made on behalf of a group or a collection.
If you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount claimed on all donations in that tax year (April 6 – April 5) it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
How does Gift Aid help?
Gift Aid helps us to support more babies, children, and families at Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
For example, if someone donated £400 to us, we could claim an extra £100 in Gift Aid.
That extra £100 could pay for:
- A four-night stay in our family accommodation, meaning a family can be by their sick child’s side day and night.
- Tickets to some of Bristol’s biggest attractions so that families can take a break from being inside hospital.
- Diaries for 25 parents whose child is in intensive care to help them document their hospital journey and process their feelings.
- Two hours of soothing music from a harpist in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, for patients, families and staff to enjoy.
