  1. In order to bid in the auction, the Bidder must be aged 18 or over.
  1. Bidders act as principal unless they have the Charity’s prior written consent (via email is acceptable) to bid as an agent for another party. Bidders are personally liable for their bid and are jointly and severally liable with their principal if bidding as an agent.
  1. Participation in the charity auction will take place online.
  1. Each Bidder must go online between Thursday 13 October 7 pm – Sunday 5 pm 23 October (“the Bid Period”) and submit a bid. All bids are subject to these terms & conditions.
  1. Once the item is detailed online, bids will be taken for a specific period as announced online (“Bid Period”). The highest genuine bid received from any Bidder by the end of the Bid Period will secure the item.
  1. By bidding, you agree that an obligation to pay the purchase price arises once the bidding closes if you are the highest bidder.

  2. During the auction term, we will use the e-mail address provided to contact you regarding the administration of your bid and to contact you if you are the winning bidder. We will also e-mail all registered bidders to remind you that the auction is closing shortly.
  3. The Bidder is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their bid and that they have the funds to complete their payment should they win.
  4. Lots may be subject to reserve prices. Where a lot has not achieved its reserve price in the bidding period, that item will not be won by any bidder. The highest bidder will be contacted and asked if they would like to meet that reserve price but will not be obliged to purchase the item.
  1. You acknowledge that once the auction has confirmed you are the highest bidder, you will be expected to pay for the item. A sale contract is made directly between Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal and the Bidder.
  1. If you wish to withdraw a bid before the auction ends, please contact hello@grandappeal.org.uk.
  1. Where a Bid is successful, the Bidder will be contacted by email and payment details will be requested. Once payment details have been received, the item will be released to the Bidder.
