It’s  The Wrong Trousers, lad. They’re… On Tour!

Share this:

In case you missed the news, there’s a gigantic pair of wrong trousers on the loose around Bristol.

Standing at a whopping five-metres tall, these inflatable cheesy trousers have been spotted in Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm’s Play Barn and later appearing in Bristol Cathedral, where you can catch them until Wednesday 3 June.

Make sure you’re following us on socials and keep your eyes peeled to see where they’ll pop up next…

Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day…

Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day is your annual opportunity to look unfashionable for a fantastic cause. Dust off your most disastrous pair of drawers and donate for the right to look wrong, all in support of sick children across the South West.

But this isn’t just any Wrong Trousers Day.

This year’s celebration marks 25 years since the opening of Bristol Children’s Hospital; the cause behind the unfashionable drawers, as well as Aardman’s 50th anniversary.

It’s thanks to the fundraising efforts behind Wrong Trousers Day and Aardman’s readiness to allow their characters, Wallace & Gromit, to spearhead the campaign, that the hospital was made possible.

The History of Wrong Trousers Day…

Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day was first launched way back in 1997 and became one of the core campaigns that helped raise the £13 million required to build Bristol Children’s Hospital.  Wrong Trousers Day has returned every year since, with thousands of schools, offices, hospital wards and individuals across the South West making fashion faux pas in the name of fundraising.

Our head of fundraising, Helen Haskell, said:

‘This is a really special year for all of us, as we celebrate two milestones that make this year’s Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day feel even more meaningful.

We’d love people across the region to get out and about, spot the giant trousers on tour and share their best selfies with us along the way.

If you’re feeling inspired, why not sign up and join in on the day itself and help raise vital funds for sick children and babies across Bristol and the South West?”

Helen Haskell, Head of Fundraising

All funds raised through Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day will support Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The money raised will help to provide life-saving care and resources for critically ill babies and children in Bristol and beyond.

If you’re keen to get involved in Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day, why not sign up today? Plus, if the official date of Friday 19 June doesn’t work for you, fear not! You’re welcome to pick your own day to wear your most ludicrous legwear.

Prepare to wear your worst trousers.

Fundraising never looked so… wrong!

Thank you to Exclusive Ballooning for their support with the trouser tour and all the venues taking part.
