Classic Cottages Support Accommodation for Families

Holiday letting specialists, Classic Cottages, have generously donated £2,000 to support our family accommodation facilities.

Our three houses – Grand Appeal House, Cots for Tots House, and Paul’s House – offer families from across the South West and beyond a free place to stay while their child is ill. This vital service is a lifeline to many, giving parents and carers one less thing to think about.

We’re delighted to provide support for the family accommodation service and for families going through a tough time. Our colleagues are delighted that we are working with The Grand Appeal, and we are very proud to be able to do so.

As the demands on Bristol Children’s Hospital grow, as does the need for our services. So, we are hugely grateful to Classic Cottages for their kind donation, which will mean more families can find a home-from-home with The Grand Appeal.

Families from across the South West are offered a place to stay

The Classic Cottages team had their own motivations for wanting to support accommodation for families after a colleague’s personal connection to Bristol Children’s Hospital.

A staff member was a patient at the hospital from 2013 for around three years. In 2014, she had surgery and her recovery took around 18 months. During that time, her mum stayed with her on the ward and her dad had to find accommodation nearby. So, we are very aware of the need for support for parents and carers of patients at the hospital.
