Please carefully read the terms and conditions below. By entering the Grand Walk you must have read, understood and accepted these conditions.
Participation
- All participants must pay the relevant non-refundable registration fee to take part in the event. The event place can only be used by the named participant(s) on the registration. If you wish to transfer your place to someone else, please contact our events team, who will explain how to do so. There is free entry for children aged three years old and under.
- Participants under 17 must be accompanied by a participating adult and have parent or guardian permission. Adults are responsible for their children’s safety throughout the event.
Health and safety
- The main route is approximately 5km and there are areas that could become quite muddy and are an uneven path. There are also several short uphill sections. This is not a competitive or timed event, so please take your time to complete the route.
- You are responsible for your own medical condition and all participants enter at their own risk. The Grand Appeal will not accept liability for any injury or loss as a result of your participation. You agree to seek medical advice from your general practitioner if you are in any doubt as to your physical ability to participate in the event.
- Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear when participating in the event, considering the nature of the event, the weather forecast and the terrain of the route.
Fundraising
- All fundraising raised through this event will be unrestricted unless specified otherwise in your registration form, meaning that this money will be used, across our hospital projects, wherever the need is greatest within Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Please do not bring any offline fundraising to pay in at the event but pay this into your online fundraising page or donate via our donation portal on our website here.
Film and Photography
- By registering for this event, you are giving your consent for any photographs taken at the event in which you, or participants within your booking, feature to be used by The Grand Appeal in any future media reporting or promotion of the event across social media, print and our website. If you or any other participants within your booking do not wish to be featured, it is your responsibility to inform the charity. You can do this by emailing comms@grandappeal.org.uk
Postponement/Cancellation
- In the event that extreme weather conditions (including but not limited to severe thunderstorms, heavy snowfall, or any other hazardous weather conditions) necessitate the postponement of the event, The Grand Appeal reserves the right to reschedule the event to a later date. All registered participants will be promptly informed of the new date and time via email provided by the lead booking participant during registration. Participants agree that The Grand Appeal shall not be liable for any inconvenience or damages resulting from the event’s postponement due to extreme weather conditions.
- Please note, this event is subject to licensing and site permissions approval by Bristol City Council.
