Whether you’re a first time ultrarunner, or a steadfast professional, lace up your trainers for an accessible ultramarathon challenge. Make your own history as you steam through the heart of the South Downs, chasing the king from ancient coasts to sweeping ridges.

You can choose from 30km, 50km, 80km and 100km distances, with the choice between the coastal and castle route or the Monarch’s loop. From Roman roads, to winding forests and scenic downland terrain, this promises to be a challenge you won’t forget.

Buy your ticket on the Threshold/Trail Series website and register with us to let us know! You will receive a branded charity top and any fundraising materials that you might need. We will also be on hand to support you in your fundraising journey.
Yes. You must be 18 years of age to enter Race to the King.
The price to take on Race to the King depends on which distance and route you choose to tackle.
For the 100km non-stop route, it is £45. For the 80km non-stop route, it is £40. For the 50km coastal or castle route, it is £35 (excluding camping). For the 30km Monarch’s Loop, it is £30.
Your minimum fundraising pledge depends on which race you choose to take on. For the 100km non-stop route, it is £550. For the 80km non-stop route, it is £450. For the 50km coastal or castle route only, it is £350. For the 30km Monarch’s Loop, it is £250.
We would however encourage and support you to raise as much as possible, both in order to help us to cover the costs of the resources you receive, but also to raise the maximum amount for Bristol Children’s Hospital or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Once you have registered with us, you will be shown how to set up an online giving page.
We highly recommend creating a JustGiving page or an Enthuse page to share your story, pictures, the reason for your fundraising and any training updates with friends and family.
They are simple platforms to use, for both yourself and your supporters. All donations made to your page are transferred to us automatically, and it allows supporters to gift aid their donations.
