Virgin Money London Marathon
Run the world's greatest fundraising marathon
Since the very first race back in the year 1981, the London Marathon has become the world’s most famous fundraising race. 40,000 runners take part on the day, many competing in fancy dress costumes for good causes, and places are highly sought after in this top event.
Places are obtained via the London Marathon ballot, which opens one week after the event in April for a limited time only. Entries are then announced in October. Unfortunately, The Grand Appeal does not have any charity places this year and can only support runners who have secured their own ballot places.
Got yourself a place for 2019?
Congratulations! We’d love for you to run for The Grand Appeal or Cots for Tots and help raise money for sick children and babies at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
There is no minimum sponsorship if you have secured your own place, just raise as much as you can!

“I’m proud to have raised so much money for such a great cause. I went to bed with the sound of the crowd ringing in my ears 'Go on Ben, you've got this!'. An incredible experience I'll never forget.”
