Three Reasons to Take on The Three Peaks Challenge

Share this:

Taking on the Three Peaks Challenge is no mean feat. If you’re still undecided about taking on this epic trek, check out the three reasons we think you should give it a go…

1. It’s a Challenge

It’s important to remember that the Three Peaks Challenge is no walk in the park… Literally! It’s a trek up three mountains, on very little sleep and approximately 460 miles in total between locations. Rated an extreme 3/3 for difficulty, the Three Peaks Challenge is a test of endurance, physical and mental strength and camaraderie.

The best way you can prepare is by going on training hikes. Drag your friends and family on regular walks in the lead up and hit the gym to build your strength and muscular endurance.

2. Meet Fellow Fundraisers

The idea of spending 24 hours with a group of strangers can be daunting. But the beauty of taking on the Three Peaks Challenge for The Grand Appeal, or any charity, is that it brings together good, kind and courageous people.

Rest-assured knowing you’ll be trekking alongside fellow fundraisers, stepping up for Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Challenges like this allow you to meet new people, share your connections to the cause, and forge friendships that last well beyond the 24-hour challenge.

3. Feel Good Knowing You’re Doing Good

Double those endorphins by taking on the Three Peaks Challenge for The Grand Appeal and Cots for Tots. With every step you take you can feel good knowing you’re doing good for Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Whether you have your own personal experience with the hospitals, or simply want to support a friend, family member or acquaintance, we’d love to have you as part of #TeamGrandAppeal and #TeamCotsforTots. The minimum sponsorship to take part this year is £950, £760 of which must be raised before you take on the trek. That means you will already have made a huge difference to sick children and babies before you even set off!
