A ‘Special Afternoon of Remembrance’

Share this:

Each day we have the privilege of meeting the brave patients of Bristol Children’s Hospital, some of whom have sadly died.
Afternoon of Remembrance

To honour the lives of these incredible children the Palliative Care and Bereavement Support Team organised a ‘Special Afternoon of Remembrance’ at St George’s Bristol on 23 June.

The Palliative Care and Bereavement Support Team care for children facing life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses and provide emotional and practical support for their families going through the most difficult time of their lives. This special event brought together some of these families to remember their children whilst reconnecting with fellow families, friends and hospital staff alike.

Afternoon of Remembrance

The afternoon included readings, songs, performances and the opportunity for families to write their loved one’s name on a star, which was placed on a nights sky display on stage. The event proved a fitting tribute to some of the incredible people we support every single day and we’re immensely proud to have been a part of it.
