Meet our roaming mini ladybird pup joining Gromit Unleashed 3. You’ll need to keep your eyes peeled. He never stays in one spot for long, so catch him if you can!
You may have recently seen a swarm of ladybirds in the South West, but these aphid-eating beauties have featured in folklore for centuries, symbolising luck, protection and love.
Izzy Lawton’s design is inspired by these age-old tales and films about bugs and nature. Gromit’s legs and paws are covered in grass, surrounded by more adorable insect characters and flowers that any naturalist would appreciate.
Get your magnifying glasses ready. If you search the grass, you may spot an item of clothing from a famous smart gnome hidden there. We think you’ll adore this mini-Gromit as he spreads his wings across the city.

Where can you ‘Spot the Gromit’?
Every Monday, our mini pup will land at these most beloved attractions across the city. Make sure you spot him and grab a photo for a bonus sculpture on the Gromit Unleashed 3 trail:
- Monday 28 July – Bristol Zoo Project
- Monday 4 August – SS Great Britain
- Monday 11 August – Bristol Ferries
- Monday 18 August – RWA
- Monday 25 August – Bristol Zoo Project
Missed him on the trail?
