2017 has been a brilliantly busy year for us all here at The Grand Appeal, with a huge number of fundraisers taking on some truly fantastic challenges to raise thousands for Bristol Children’s Hospital. We’ve also announced our 2018 trail, celebrated Morph’s 40th with an exhibition at our Gromit Unleashed shop, started construction of our new family accommodation, and launched a brand new appeal for Bristol Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Department! And that’s not all…
Last week we were over the moon to be awarded the Third Sector Award for Enterprise, for our efforts within the retail sector following the huge success of Our Gromit Unleashed Shop. This is our second award this year for our Gromit Unleashed shop, after winning Retailer of the Year at the Bristol Post Business Awards.
What originally started out as a ten week pop up shop during the extraordinarily popular Gromit Unleashed trail in 2013 has turned into a permanent fixture at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway. Since then, we’ve delighted fans with over 250,000 Shaun and Gromit figurines, going on to raise millions for the young patients we meet every day at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Third Sector judge Justin Davis Smith, senior research fellow at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Cass Business School said: “This is a unique and brilliant tie-up between a charity and a world-famous local brand that has delivered incredible financial results.”
Thank you to all our fans who have made this possible, and to CAN Mezzanine who kindly sponsored the award!
Our Gromit Unleashed shop can be found at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, and for those far-flung fans of ours – you can check out all our cracking items up for grabs at www.wallaceandgromitcharityshop.co.uk.
