New arts trail planned for 2018 in Bristol

We are delighted to announce that, together with Aardman, we will be organising a new public arts trail to take place throughout Bristol and the surrounding area during the Summer of 2018. The trail will build on the runaway success of the previous 2 events; Gromit Unleashed and Shaun in the City. Both trails proved incredibly popular, raising over £6 million to support children in hospital and each bringing over 1.2 million people to Bristol.

Gromit Unleashed was the first national and international public arts trail to feature a licensed character, with Aardman’s much loved canine sidekick taking to the streets of Bristol in 2013.

We are keeping the details of the trail a closely guarded secret, to be released later in the year. We plan to build on our previous success, incorporating new ways to interact with the sculptures and showcasing new areas of the city and beyond with a colourful character. 2018 will mark 5 years since Gromit Unleashed and the trail promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with more information due to be released in the Autumn.

2018 will be a busy and exciting year for Aardman, with the release of their pre-historic comedy adventure ‘Early Man’ directed by Academy Award® winner Nick Park. Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, ‘Early Man’ tells the story of how plucky caveman Dug, along with sidekick Hognob unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.
