We are thrilled to receive the support of the Morrisons Foundation for our home from home appeal, with an incredible donation of £179,300, bringing us one step closer to opening the doors on our new family accommodation house. This donation will support the reconfiguration and refurbishment of the house, where building has begun, situated across the road from the children’s hospital.
Grand Appeal supporter Andrea Fowler, and mum to cardiac patient Olivia said “It is fantastic that the Morrisons Foundation has supported The Grand Appeal’s family accommodation appeal. We know exactly how much of a difference this will make to families, taking a huge pressure off their shoulders at a very difficult time. We regularly travel to the Hospital from Cornwall and the distance and lack of accommodation means only I can stay with Olivia in the Hospital. To be able to stay opposite would be a huge help, meaning our whole family can be with our daughter at such a difficult time”.
The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarkets in 2015 and gets most of its funding from the sale of single-use carrier bags. Since launching, over £10 million has been given to charities throughout England, Scotland and Wales for charity projects which make a positive difference in local communities. David Scott, Trustee of the Morrisons Foundation, said: “We’re delighted to be awarding this donation to The Grand Appeal, which supports young patients and their families from Bristol and beyond. We know that charities from across the South West are delivering important work and we’re keen to ensure that as many of these as possible can benefit from the funding we have on offer”.
We cant' thank everyone at the Morrisons Foundation enough for their incredible support, and the difference their donation will make to sick children and their familes.
