Kate's epic Iceland Trek!

Our Community Fundraiser Kate is embarking on an incredible 6 day trekking challenge in Iceland, and we wish her all the luck in the world!

Kate has worked at The Grand Appeal for the past year, and is a familiar face to our supporters in the community, helping people make the most of their fundraising and supporting their challenges. Kate is trekking 60 miles in just 6 days and below she explains why she decided to fundraise:

Kate says "I love a good challenge, but what originally sounded like a nice holiday in Iceland, has emerged to be really hard! We will be carrying all our luggage (18kg) for 6 days -  all food, tents, clothes, drinking water and waterproofs over tough volcanic terrain with river crossings that can be waist high - so I thought why not raise some money at the same time!"

"I have been working at the Grand Appeal for the last year and a half and am continuously amazed and inspired by the many strong and incredible families I meet every day who are so thankful for the amazing work Bristol Children's Hospital does and who go on to raise money to help other poorly children there, that I would like to do my bit too!"

Kate and her friends have funded the trip, so every penny she raises will go straight to The Grand Appeal. Please support Kate on her adventure and sponsor her here
