Led by Emergency Department doctor, Sian Thomas, a dedicated team of more than 20 doctors and nurses, along with supporters, will push their endurance to the limits by taking on a 24 hour ‘rowathon’ on three rowing machines kindly donated by the University of Bristol. The goal is to row 365km - one kilometre for each day of the year that this expert team provides critical care to young patients from across the South West.
The rowathon will take place on Thursday 15th February in the Bristol Children’s Hospital, where the team will pull together through the day and night to meet their epic target. To ensure their challenge is a success, they are calling on you to help get them to the finish line. By sponsoring the team, cheering them on or even joining in, you will be helping the Emergency Department continue to save lives and provide the best possible care to the 40,000 children and their families who visit every year.
So please, dig deep and show your support for this sensational team by:
- Sponsoring Sian and her team: Text BRCH69 £5 to 70070 or visit their JustGiving page
- Cheering them on: Spread the word and give your support with messages of encouragement on Twitter and Facebook, using the hashtag #werow24hr
The event is raising money to support the transformation of what is the busiest children’s Emergency Department in the South West. The Emergency Department appeal launched in July last year and, thanks to supporters like you, work has already begun but there is still so much we can do.
365 days a year, 24 hours a day, the Emergency Department team at Bristol Children’s Hospital are here for you. Will you be there for them?
