Make fundraising a family affair
Step up to the starting line with Albie and his family and give something back this year.
Inspired to don their superhero capes for the second time, Albie and his family will be taking on the Great Bristol Family Run to say thank you to Bristol Children’s Hospital for being there for them when they needed it most. You too can join this fantastic family of fundraisers and enjoy this special mile long race together. Your young athletes will even get their own medal to treasure as they cross the finish line!
“Albie loved dressing up in his superhero costume for his first ever run last year and encouraged his family including his parents and grandparents to all run together in support of him. He enjoyed every minute, tooting his whistle at spectators as he went round and we were so proud of him. This year, four-year old Albie is already looking forward to race day and adding to his medal collection!” Mum, Gemma.
In 2015, Albie was rushed to Bristol Children’s Hospital at just two days old. Having been told their baby boy had posterior urethral valves, meaning his urethra was blocked, mum Gemma and dad Ryan were given the news that little Albie only had one functioning kidney. After a tough couple of weeks of tests and surgery, Albie was able to go home. Despite having a life-long condition, he was going to be ok and continues to be supported by the amazing renal and urology consultants from Bristol Children’s Hospital.
