Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are up for an award!
St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has been nominated for the Care and Clinical Practice Award at the Sustainable Health and Care Awards 2018!
Today we’re celebrating #YouMadeItHappen! A day recognising YOU: our supporters and a chance to shine a light on the amazing difference your donations make.
With your support we have funded video platform technology called vCreate. Minimising parent separation anxiety and stress, this secure service enables updates of special care babies to be sent to their parents whilst they’re away from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. With NICU covering the whole of the South West and beyond, the unit is home to sick and premature babies from far and wide. As a result, many parents are forced to split their time between the unit and their home meaning this technology provides a crucial link between parents and their babies.
This innovative use of technology has been nominated and the Sustainable Health and Care Awards where the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are up for the Care and Clinical Practice Award! These Awards, held on Wednesday 21st November, aim to promote sustainable practices in healthcare and make real and lasting benefits for patients, staff and the community.
We are delighted this Cots for Tots funded initiative has been recognised and can’t wait to hear the results!
