Meet Two Superb Charity Champs!
During a scorching hot June, sisters in law, Heather and Sarah decided to give something back to the hospital that cared for both their children and take part in one almighty challenge.
The Cotswold Way Challenge sees participants tackle 100km of footpaths, hills and trails from Bath’s beautiful Royal Crescent all the way to Cheltenham. Heather and Sarah completed this incredible feat whilst battling the heat and lack of sleep as they walked continuously throughout one day.
Heather and Sarah donned their hiking boots after seeing first-hand the amazing level of care and support Bristol Children’s Hospital offers to not only its young patients but their families too when both their children, Arthur and Maisy, were rushed to hospital with a severe case of Bronchiolitis. This illness is quite common in young babies but can become serious meaning that both Maisy and Arthur needed assistance with breathing and feeding.
Hospital staff were outstanding throughout this challenging time and after a number nights spent there, Maisy and Arthur were soon home again. Maisy and Arthur were treated years apart but it’s these individual stories that had inspired Heather and Sarah to come together to fundraise and we’d like to congratulate this cracking pair on their incredible fundraising efforts! So far, they have raised over £1,200 and this money will go direct to Ward 30, where Maisy and Arthur were treated.
