Fearless Grandfather Completes His Epic Trek!
Today we’re introducing you to Richard, who this summer pushed himself to the limit in a mammoth journey across Spain in aid of Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Retracing the route of El Camino de Santiago de Compostela, an old pilgrimage leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in Galicia in north-western Spain, Richard walked nearly 200 miles through various parts of the country over 12 days. Richard was inspired to put on his walking boots by one very special person – his grandson Toby who was born with a congenital heart defect. We think this cracking challenge is an amazing way to not only thank the team that cared for him but honour the strength and bravery of an amazing little man who had a difficult start in life.
Battling the summer heat and endless hills whilst meeting friendly farmers and dogs along the way, we’re so proud of Richard’s achievement and want to congratulate him on his amazing efforts!
We hope that you will show him some support by donating here.
