Erin's cracking cut!
Eight-year-old Erin knows only too well the incredible care Bristol Children’s Hospital provides for its brave patients after regularly receiving treatment there.
Erin has lupus. This condition causes inflammation in many different parts of the body and Erin’s became so bad that she had to spend a week in hospital earlier this year. Determined to make a difference to other sick children like her after the fantastic care she received at Bristol Children’s Hospital, grew her long locks nearly down to the ground in preparation for a sponsored hair cut!
“Staying at hospital was ok because the staff were really nice and you couldn't get bored because the playroom had DVD's, books and puzzles. I decided I wanted to raise money for the hospital so they could help more children.”
In March, Erin faced the big chop and had a mammoth 12 inches cut! She donated her ‘spare hair’ to The Little Princess Trust who makes wigs for children suffering from cancer. Aside from growing her hair, Erin has also been busy fundraising and so far with gift aid included has raised a whopping £3,068.90! A huge well done to this fantastic fundraiser!
“I felt really excited but nervous when I was getting my hair cut as I was used to having long hair. I'm really glad I did it though as I'm helping other children and I love my new haircut too”
