David Breaks a New World Record!
David, who usually spends his time at Bristol Children’s Hospital as a junior doctor, swapped his hospital uniform for his running gear and tackled the Abingdon Marathon.
This was no ordinary feat, however; not only was David running but he also had his two children in tow as he pushed them in a buggy for the entire route! And just when you think this fundraiser couldn’t get any more special, David managed to break the world record for the fastest marathon whilst pushing a buggy beating his own wife, who was the previous record holder!
After some intense training and trial runs Dave completed his mammoth challenge yesterday and ended on a high finishing in an incredible time! David completed the marathon in 2 hours and 54 minutes, beating the world record by over 10 minutes!
Being a part of the Paediatric Orthopaedic team at Bristol Children’s Hospital means David treats a number of disorders, injuries and diseases related to the bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves or tendons and that he has seen first-hand the pioneering work he will be supporting through this amazing achievement. He has also been raising money for The Bristol Orthopaedic Trust which will support research into bone and joint disease in both children and adults.
A huge round of applause goes to David. We hope he’s enjoying a well-deserved sit-down and a cuppa! To donate to his incredible fundraiser visit here.
