Christmas at Cots for Tots House!

Cots for Tots

Cots for Tots News

We caught up with Anne, House Manager of both Pauls House and Cots for Tots House, to hear how the House helps parents going through an unimaginably difficult time not only during the festive period but all year round.

"I see first-hand the vital role Paul's House and Cots for Tots House plays in many families’ hospital journeys 365 days of the year and even more so during Christmas.

Every day, I meet brave parents who are going through an incredibly difficult time with their baby requiring specialist life-saving care. At such an incredibly stressful time, having nowhere to stay makes a tough situation even harder. Our house offers these parents a safe home-from-home all year round, just moments from where their baby is being cared for. This can be a lifeline for so many families during an extremely difficult time and through offering them care and support in such tough times they become an extension of our own family!"

"The holiday season can be especially hard for many of our residents who live thousands of miles away and will be spending time by their baby’s side, morning and night, rather than joining the rest of their family for Christmas. That’s why we make every effort to bring the festivities to Cots for Tots and make sure it is as homely as possible.

The Cots for Tots community is certainly a special one and it is incredibly heart-warming to see relationships form between families in the face of such testing times. We’re so proud to provide accommodation that takes such a huge worry from people and we constantly strive to make their time with us as comfortable as possible – Christmas included!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us this year. Whether you have fundraised, made a donation, or sent a message of kindness and hope through our Stocking Appeal, you have made a huge difference to the inspiring and resilient families I have the pleasure of meeting every day."
