There are lots of reasons why people choose to volunteer for The Grand Appeal. You might have professional skills to offer or simply have some spare time that you’d like to put use for a good cause. Whether you have a few hours free on a regular basis or just the odd evening or weekend available, we’re always on the lookout for people to help.
We are currently looking for volunteers for Glastonbury Festival - or if you would like to hear about other opportunities as they arise, please complete the form below. We’ll be in touch soon!
Volunteer with us at Glastonbury Festival!
Missed out on a ticket to Glastonbury? This summer we’re offering you the exciting chance to attend this world-famous festival while helping to raise funds for Bristol Children’s Hospital!
We’re looking for a team of enthusiastic, committed people to volunteer as litter pickers. By volunteering with us you’ll hear the music, soak up the atmosphere, and play an important role in the festival’s success – all while knowing that your time is supporting an amazing cause.
How does it work?
When you sign up to volunteer you pay a deposit of £240 – this is the same cost as a ticket.
During the festival you must complete a 6 hour litter picking shift each day from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th June (4 days). It’s really important that you complete all your shifts – the festival relies on brilliant volunteers like you, and if you miss a shift you’ll lose your deposit and not be allowed to volunteer again.
When you’re not working, your time is your own – roam the festival, see all the acts, and have lots of fun!
Volunteers have their own field to camp in, with toilets and hot showers. You will receive 2 vegetarian meals a day on your work days in the volunteers’ marquee, and as much free tea and coffee as you want.
To say a big thank you for all your hard work, there will be a special volunteer party attended by Michael Eavis.
After the festival you’ll be refunded £180, and The Grand Appeal will receive the remaining £60 as a donation to support young patients and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
You get to feel amazing, knowing you’ve generously donated your time for charity!

Applications close at the end of February.
