Patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital meet the stars of The Sleeping Beauty ballet!
Last Friday, dancers from English Youth Ballet visited young patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital, and treated them to a special ballet workshop featuring pieces from The Sleeping Beauty, ahead of their performance in March where they will be collecting for Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal. Dancers demonstrated warm-ups, and dressed up in their costumes to perform two beautiful solos from The Sleeping Beauty.
English Youth Ballet principal dancer Adeline Kaiser said: “It’s been a great experience coming to Bristol Children’s Hospital today. I loved seeing the expressions on the children’s faces – it really touched me.” Hospital patient Shiana, pictured, was one of the children who enjoyed the performance. She said: “The ballet was excellent – I liked it when Adeline lifted her leg up right by her ear!”
English Youth Ballet will be raising funds for The Grand Appeal at their performances of The Sleeping Beauty from 8-9th March, at the Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare. Tickets are available at the box office – 01934 645544 and www.theplayhouse.co.uk.
