The new Royal Hospital for Children opened its doors on Sunday 22 April 2001. We are one of the leading paediatric centres in Great Britain with specialities including bone marrow transplant, cancer and leukaemia; cardiac surgery and general medicine. The Hospital treats over 70,000 patients every year from Bristol, the South West of England and South Wales. In some specialities children visit from all over the UK and overseas.
The new Hospital has all the facilities you would expect from a major hospital including:
169 beds, over 50% of these in single rooms with en-suite facilities.
All inpatient beds have a parents bed alongside
18 bed intensive care unit
