Deliotte Tough Tors for Thomas
In June a team from Deloitte and The Royal Bank of Scotland and I completed the Deloitte Tough Tors challenge to raise funds for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
The Event in Dartmoor involved climbing 13 tors, crossing waist-high bogs and walking over 45 miles. We carried all our kit and camped overnight. I organized the challenge to raise money for PICU to say thank you for caring for my son Thomas who was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome which, in simple terms, means he forgets to breathe when he is asleep. Thomas spent 4 months in hospital so it is great to have him home now. The total funds raised to date are £5000 and the money will be used to purchase life saving equipment to help families in similar situations.
