This year, we have come up with a recession-busting fundraiser where you can save money as you raise it! By taking part in the Grand Appeal’s Christmas ‘Come Dining’ Challenge, you and your friends can cook up some fun by hosting festive dinner parties, making a donation to the Appeal and saving lots of money on restaurant bills!

And the group that raises the most money for the charity will win a luxury food hamper to enjoy at your next dinner party!

To take part in the ‘Come Dining’ Challenge, all you need to do is get together a group of 4 to 8 friends and each take turns to host a dinner over the Christmas period. At each meal, all the guests pay £10, or an agreed amount, into a kitty.

Then, to add a bit of zest to the evening, everyone votes on the best dining experience and puts a name in a hat, along the lines of the TV show ‘Come Dine With Me’. At the last meal, the host with the most votes wins half the money, and the other half is donated to The Grand Appeal (or you can donate the whole prize if you like!) It is cheaper than going out to dinner and lots of fun. So why not stay at home and take on the Come Dining challenge – after all, staying in is the new going out!
