Brave and brilliant nurses have shaved their heads to raise money for our Children’s Cancer Appeal!
Bone Marrow Transplant nurses at Bristol Children’s Hospital Kerry Duckett, Rebecca Land and Peter Robertson had their heads shaved yesterday to raise awareness and funds for the Children’s Cancer Appeal.
The Grand Appeal’s campaign was launched in May 2012 to raise £250,000 to provide a rooftop conservatory play room, parent’s facilities and en-suite bathrooms for the new integrated children’s Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology Unit.
The headshave challenge has already raised an amazing £1,997.00 and Kerry Duckett says:
“We all want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made a donation so far and spurred us on in our fundraising challenge. Every day, we see young cancer patients and their families facing the illness with amazing courage. The headshave is our way of recognising and admiring just how inspirational they are, at the same time as doing our bit to help the Children’s Cancer Appeal.”
We are so thankful to Kerry, Rebecca and Peter for their fantastic support. You can donate by visiting www.justgiving.com/sponsor-shave or by texting 70070 with donations made out to KDPR99 plus amount, for example: KDPR99 £1.
