Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal is the only charity fundraising exclusively for the Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to provide comforts and facilities for patients and their families in the Hospital.
The Grand Appeal raised £12 million towards the new building for the child-friendly Bristol Children’s Hospital, which opened in April 2001. Since then, we funded a wide variety of programmes for patients valued at nearly £5 million including arts, entertainment, education, play and music programmes; state-of-the-art equipment; family accommodation facilities; comforts for patients; ward enhancement and new medical facilities in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The Appeal operates a wide and diverse range of fundraising opportunities to suit everyone – from adventure treks…. to regular giving via our unique ‘Guardian Angels’ scheme… to corporate fundraising...to leaving a legacy in your will. To see how you can support our work, please visit Support Us.
The Grand Appeal has a very special relationship with Aardman who created the Wallace & Gromit characters and who allow us to use the famous duo to spearhead our fundraising.
The popularity of Wallace & Gromit gives the Appeal a high profile to fundraise for the Bristol Children’s Hospital. Wallace & Gromit are a perfect fit for the Charity and almost unique in that both appeal to children and adults alike.
We are fortunate to have the founding Aardman Directors Nick Park, Pete Lord and Dave Sproxton as Patrons of the Appeal. |
